Fictitious Business Name (FBN)
A Fictitious Business Name (FBN) is the name of the company if it DOES NOT include the legal name of the owner.
This is a process where the business name, and other information, is submitted to a printed newspaper in county the business is based in. Then a listing (Fictitious Business Statement) will run for 4 weeks in the paper. Once those listings have run, the newspaper will send a proof of publication that must be submitted along with the business license.
Contact any newspaper in the county the business is based in to get submission forms and pricing.
